Job Description: Placement Specialist (Hybrid)
Position Overview:
The Placement Specialist assists customers in developing and applying the skills necessary to prepare for and complete job searching activities that lead to competitive, integrated employment. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work one-on-one with customers to provide individualized support throughout the job search process.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist customers in gathering and organizing information for their employment data sheet.

Guide customers through the job application process, ensuring accurate and complete submissions.

Create and tailor individualized resumes that highlight the customer’s skills, experience, and career goals.

Provide interview preparation and coaching, including mock interviews and strategies for success.

Support customers in job searching, identifying opportunities that align with their individual needs, preferences, and career aspirations.

Assist customers with the job acceptance process, including understanding job offers, negotiating terms, and preparing for the first day of work.

Identify and address employment barriers, providing guidance and resources to help customers overcome obstacles to securing and maintaining employment.
Qualifications & Skills:

Must be credentialed through UNTWISE (must maintain active certification).

Experience in employment services, career coaching, workforce development, or related fields.

Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to assess individual strengths, barriers, and career goals to provide personalized job search support.

Familiarity with disability services, vocational rehabilitation, or workforce programs (preferred but not required).

Reliable transportation (proof of insurance may be required).
Technology Skills Requirement:

Must have intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including the ability to create, edit, and manage documents, spreadsheets, emails, and presentations effectively.
Education & Documentation Requirements:

All transcripts and/or certifications/licenses must be submitted to be counted toward qualifications.

A degree in a relevant field (such as Social Work, Human Services, Workforce Development, or a related area) is preferred but not required depending on experience.
