Job Description: Work Readiness Instructor Aide
Position Overview:
The Work Readiness Instructor Aide provides support to the Work Readiness Instructor in delivering employment-related instruction and assistance to individuals with disabilities. This role focuses on reinforcing job readiness skills, assisting with instructional activities, and providing individualized support to ensure customers successfully develop the skills necessary for competitive, integrated employment.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in delivering work readiness instruction, including job search strategies, workplace communication, professionalism, and time management.

Provide one-on-one or small-group support to reinforce learning and ensure comprehension of key employment concepts.

Assist customers with resume writing, application completion, and interview preparation under the direction of the Work Readiness Instructor.

Support customers in developing confidence and independence in employment-related activities.

Help with tracking and documenting customer progress, participation, and areas needing additional support.

Adapt instructional materials to accommodate different learning styles and comprehension levels.

Maintain a structured and supportive learning environment that fosters engagement and skill development.

Collaborate with the instructor to address individualized learning needs and barriers to employment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Candidate must meet one of the following qualifications:

High school diploma or GED with a verifiable certificate and:
-
Two years of experience working with students with disabilities (as verified with pay statements or a letter of verification).

A minimum of 30 semester hours of college credit, with at least 15 semester hours in special education, specific disabilities, social work, counseling, business, or a related field.

60 semester hours of college credit in special education, specific disabilities, social work, counseling, business, or a related field.
Additional Skills:

Experience working with individuals with disabilities in education, workforce development, or employment services.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support diverse learning needs.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and workplace technology.

Ability to follow structured lesson plans and provide hands-on guidance to reinforce learning.
