Job Description: Work Readiness Instructor (Hybrid)
Position Overview:

The Work Readiness Instructor is responsible for teaching and supporting individuals with disabilities in developing the skills necessary to obtain and maintain competitive, integrated employment. This role focuses on preparing customers for the workforce by providing instruction in job readiness, workplace expectations, and essential soft skills. The instructor will use engaging, interactive methods tailored to meet individual learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide structured instruction on job readiness skills, including professionalism, communication, time management, problem-solving, and workplace etiquette.

  • Assist customers in understanding and developing employability skills, such as resume writing, job searching, and interview preparation.

  • Deliver lessons that accommodate various learning styles and comprehension levels, ensuring content is accessible and engaging.

  • Support customers in building self-confidence and independence in employment-related activities.

  • Collaborate with customers to identify individual strengths, interests, and career goals to develop personalized employment plans.

  • Teach strategies for managing workplace challenges, including social interactions, task prioritization, and adapting to change.

  • Track and document customer progress and participation, providing feedback and guidance as needed.

  • Maintain compliance with program standards and UNTWISE credentialing requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Minimum of 60 college credit hours in a relevant field (such as Social Work, Human Services, Education, Workforce Development, or a related area).

  • Credentialed through UNTWISE (must maintain active certification).

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities in education, workforce development, or employment services.

  • Strong instructional and facilitation skills, with the ability to adapt lessons to different learning needs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online learning tools.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a structured and supportive learning environment.
